We don’t just make clothes

We create what you wear when you want to feel most alive.

When you want to be seen - but never defined.

When you want garments that move with you, and stories that stay on your skin.

Because Paul Ropp isn’t fashion. It's a feeling, made wearable.

From loom to legend

Our story begins in the 1970s, not on a runway, but on a rhythm of rebellion, self-expression, and soul.

Paul Ropp, the man behind the movement, arrived in Bali seeking freedom. He found it in color. In artisanship. In the kind of slow, intentional making that honored both the maker and the wearer.

He didn’t set out to start a brand. He set out to create a lifestyle of self expression - one that draped sensuality, spirit, and rebellion in every stitch.

Each piece was made not to follow trends, but to awaken truth. He called it: “clothes for people who prefer to be naked.” Because to wear Paul Ropp is to unbind yourself from expectation and consensus, and to live free in your own skin.

“I’m not in it for fashion,” Paul once said.
“I’m in it for the oohs and ahhs.”

Every piece is an invitation to undress the false, and re-dress the soul. His legacy lives not just in fabric, but in feeling. The kind that makes you feel bold and powerful, then realize that you are the perfect gift.

Courage to be seen

In a world addicted to sameness, we exist for those who dress with passion.
For those who crave color,
who see fabric as language, and
who want their clothes to live with them.

We exist for those who don’t dress to impress - but to express.

Our wearers are not defined by age, trend, or category. They are defined by feeling.

You wear Paul Ropp when:
You want to walk barefoot but look like poetry.

You crave softness without silence.
You dress not just your body - but your energy.

No two pieces are the same.
Because no two people are.

Crafted: always. Perfect: never.

Every piece is touched by hand.
Hand-loomed cottons, hand-draped silks, hand-cut details, and bone buttons carved one by one.

We honor the cottage industry model - not out of nostalgia, but out of respect.

Respect for the human rhythm. The irregular. The soul in the stitch, the art at our fingertips.

We create slowly, imperfectly, and intentionally.

Because true luxury doesn’t scream, it hums.
In the flutter of silk.
In the pulse of color.
In the story that lingers after the garment is gone.

The language of color

At Paul Ropp, we don’t design by season.
We design by element, because we believe what you wear should reflect how you feel. All our collections follow the elemental color families:

Earth - grounding, sensual, stable
Woven in ochre, sand, and clay : for days you seek rootedness and depth.

Fire - radiant, daring, passionate
Lit in saffron, crimson, and coral: for when your spirit wants to shine.

Water - flowing, calm, open
Draped in indigo, teal, and marine: for moments of ease, clarity, and movement.

Forest - wild, mystical, alive
Enveloped in emeralds, moss, and bark: for the instinctive, the untamed, the free.

These four families are how we express mood, not trend.

A language of color as art adorned.

Wrapped in Ropp

Our story is not finite, it’s expressed through every item worn.

In the folds of silk.
In the hands that made it.
In the bodies that bring it to life.

We invite you to discover your element.
To dress with rhythm.
To wear what your spirit wants to say.

Because you weren’t made to blend in.

You were woven to stand out.
